You can open a .scn file in notepad.  If you alter it and try to save it as a different file name, notepad changes the extension from .scn (orbiter scene file) to .txt (text file).  Orbiter can not load a text file.  So...we've created the name of the new file that we will alter and save as itself so it retains the .scn extension.  (I know, I know--clear as mud!)
